“Though we do not have in the New Testament a complete record of the personal prayer life of the apostle Paul,”
Grudem, Wayne A. Systematic Theology: An Introduction to Biblical Doctrine. Zondervan, 2009, loc. 520.
We do not have a record of each of his prayers, of course, but we do have a record of the importance and prevalence of his prayers (specifically how they relate to spiritual warfare) in the same passage on the armor of God. “…, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.” (Ephesians 6:17b-18a, ESV) Prayer itself seems intrinsically linked to the sword of the Spirit as these thoughts are connected by a coma rather than a period.
