Wrong Bong Sao use kick
“Wrong Bong Sao, use kick.”
Yat, Moy, and C. N. Kwong. Ving Tsun Kuen Kuit. 14 Publishing Co., Inc., 1982, p. 56.
This is a maxim, much like ‘Hand lost, Thrust forward.’ It’s purpose is to stay ahead of the action/reaction cycle. If you use the wrong Bong Sao, you are in danger of your structure collapsing, and your opponent gaining an advantage. By using a kick (especially as Ving Tsun uses low kicks) you are redirecting the action of the engagement, and eliciting a response from your opponent. This give you time to recover your structure.
