| Notes | James begins by warning about our worldly desires for gain, and how that is at enmity with God. It is only by grace that we can hope to overcome this, and that grace is given by God to the humble. Humble yourself, therefore. Along the same lines as this humility, it is pride to boast of tomorrow. Know that it is only by God’s grace that you even have a tomorrow. |
