Focal Verse | a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.” (Luke 2:32 ESV) |
Notes | It has become obvious, that at least at this time, I will be too hard-pressed on either side to write down any in-depth notes for the book of Luke. However, I can stay my reading no longer. I must read the Word of God daily, even if at this time all I can do is as Mary did and, “treasure these things up in my heart,” Without committing them to writing. This chapter in Luke focuses on the birth of Christ, and the annunciation of that birth to the shepherds. Then, Luke gives one snippets from the boy, Jesus’, life as his parents return to Nazareth, and He stays behind in the temple. Luke ends the chapter with, “And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. (Luke 2:52 ESV)” I also find this verse interesting, in showing Jesus’ human nature fully submitting to the authority, given by God, to sinful parents, “And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was submissive to them. And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart. (Luke 2:51 ESV)” |
