Focal Verse | And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing over them. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. (Luke 9:16 ESV) |
Notes | Because of all the miracles, and Jesus sending out His disciples, Herod hears about what is happening, and desires to see Jesus. Jesus withdraws with His disciples upon their return, to Bethsaida. There, the crowds find Him. He feeds the five thousand people. In verse 14, Jesus says, “Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each.” I wonder why He did this, further, I wonder what the significance of including it in the gospel is? |
