Luke 9:28–36

Bible Reading
Focal VerseAnd when the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent and told no one in those days anything of what they had seen. (‭Luke‬ ‭9‬:‭36‬ ESV)
NotesJesus transfiguration. Moses and Elijah appear, and they speak to Jesus specifically about His coming death and departure. Further, in taking these verses with the ones that came before, we see the fulfillment of the saying, “But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.” (‭Luke‬ ‭9‬:‭27‬ ESV) Also in keeping with Jesus charge to tell no one He is the Christ, they did not talk about what they had seen until after Jesus’ death. This inside glimpse of what was to come, had to shade the actions of Peter (especially) in the coming chapters.
