Luke 9:51–62

Bible Reading
Focal VerseJesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” (‭Luke‬ ‭9‬:‭62‬ ESV)
NotesJesus’ ministry is drawing to its close, and He sets his face to Jerusalem. Because of His intention to go to Jerusalem, an Samaritan village rejects Him. Then, we have the accounts of three people who determine to follow Jesus, and Jesus’ reaction to them. We, however, do not have recorded for us those individuals’ reactions to Jesus’ responses. The first approaches Jesus and Jesus tells the man that the Son of Man has nowhere to rest His head, Jesus calls the second and the man first asks to bury his father, and the third approaches Jesus and asks to say goodbye to his household first. (Almost like an amalgamation of the first two men.)
